We recently completed the renovation of The Salvation Army’s 40,000-square-foot National Headquarters in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. Originally designed in the 1980s, the updated design features a reimagined lobby that immerses visitors in the organization’s mission through a museum-like experience. Interior upgrades modernized workspaces to better support staff across departments—from finance to fundraising—enhancing collaboration, motivation, and productivity. The transformation reflects The Salvation Army’s enduring values while aligning the space with its forward-looking mission.

Designed by ElevenEleven in collaboration with Gensler, the new Yeleen Beauty Makerspace in Ward 7 transforms a former retail space into a vibrant, flexible production hub for emerging beauty entrepreneurs. The 3,000 SF facility supports small, plant-based, and BIPOC-owned brands with shared manufacturing, packaging, and co-working areas—fostering collaboration, innovation, and inclusive growth within D.C.’s beauty industry.

Located in Washington, DC’s historic Barracks Row district, 430 8th Street SE has been renovated into a mixed‑use building combining ground‑floor retail, second‑floor office space, and a top‑floor residence. The adaptive reuse preserves the character of the neighborhood while adding modern amenities and finishes. Its 2019 renovation updated systems, exterior storefronts, and interior layouts to support diverse uses. Now functioning as a vibrant corner building, it blends commercial activity at street level with private work and living above.
